Formally trained in classical piano and music composition, Kevin Pineda Gould's interest in street photography flourished in New York City in 2018. Gould’s journey into street photography stemmed from his search for creative expression during the pandemic lockdown of 2020 as he began to document the city's rapid changing nature. His style explores the use of candid city-dwelling moments layered in chiaroscuro-filled storytelling compositions.
Gould’s first solo exhibit debuted at the Peak Design Store and Gallery in SoHo, NYC, in 2023. His body of work has garnered worldwide attention through social media and was awarded in the 2024 Black-and-White Street Photography Awards from The Independent Photographer by renowned Magnum Photographer Nikos Economopoulos. His work with monochrome photography has gained recognition from brands such as Leica Camera and has been published in Vogue.
Beyond his artistic pursuits, Gould advocates for the power of visual storytelling. He conducts street photography workshops and shares his experiences with other photographers, encouraging them to find and build their unique perspectives within city life. Frame by frame, Kevin Pineda Gould has become a narrator of the city's stories bringing to the forefront its often overlooked faces.
